Suggest a Book!E-mail for PSA Bookstore suggestions: bookstore@python.org The PSA Bookstore has grown considerably from its birth. It used to be a single Web page listing the then-available Python books, but has subsequently grown to include other books that have been recommended by many different people in the Python community. There are no Python-specific books about design patterns or ActiveX or image processing, but a book can be useful and relevant to Python programmers even though it may use other languages for sample code. A book that has page after page of tricky C++ code to implement an ActiveX control may not be helpful; one that covers the material well, has useful pseudo-code, and some sample C++ code may be perfect. The PSA Bookstore is an attempt to list such titles. Send mail to bookstore@python.org to suggest a book that should be listed. At a minimum, provide the title and author. Don't worry about looking up the ISBN; it's easy for us to do that at amazon.com. Part of the usefulness of an online bookstore lies in recommendations of which books are valuable, and in commentary on each book's strong points and weak areas. You're encouraged to give opinions about books, since it provides insight into why a book is worth reading. You might consider explaining:
Comments about already-listed books are welcome, too; if you agree or disagree with a recommendation, please let us know. This bookstore aims to let Python users help other Python users, by steering them toward books that are useful, educational, and worth the investment of time and money; your opinions can help us do that. (You could also post comments on amazon.com, to help other customers.) |
