"Visual Python"

Hi all,

I posted a call for suggestions the other day, looking
for ideas for an "active forms scripting language".

Thanks to all of you who responded. The best-looking
bets are clearly Python and Java (from Sun)... but I think I'll
stick with Python for the moment.

One interesting point: IBM might be making OO REXX source
available ;-).

Anyways, essentially we want to reate a platform independant
"Active Forms" system. We see a form as comprising a
"Form Definition" component, which describes what the form looks
like, and a "Forms Method" component, which contains the
code or the "intelligence".

Essentially, this would be a "Visual Python".

Now, how does the Python + Tkinter combination sound? Will
this be able to do everything we need?

More importantly, is this likely to be extremely portable?

Thanks in advance,

Mark
