I was just browsing the code for method objects and was somewhat
surprised to find that a free list of dereferenced objects is not
maintained there as it is for some of the other more heavily used
objects. Since method objects are so common (one is created for each
call to a built-in object), I would guess that this would be a
worthwhile (and simple) performance enhancement. Has this particular
improvement been discussed already? Does anybody have any profiling
data?
