Where can I find Python for Linux ?

The question says it all. I have not seen a FAQ so I asked.
Also where can I find an electronic text on Python ? I am too broke to
afford a book in order to just explore a new language. Does it offer an
interface to the GUI its hosted on (eg X, PM, Windows) ?
