Does anyone have the Python source & Mac project files (with everything
needed to compile python) all packaged together?

Guido's packaging of the Mac material is not so great. (Sorry, it's
true.) Has anyone else you there even compilied it on the Mac?

The FAQ says a new and improved port to the Mac is forth comming.
When might this be?
