As the project continues, the basic-control-style user
interface elements (dials, gauges, etc.) will be fully
developed. PFD-style elements will be added relatively soon,
since the design for one such element has already been
completed. The HUD-style semi-transparent overlays will
eventually become an important area of focus. Eventually, it
should be possible to further abstract out the interdisciplinary
design concepts being incorporated into the Flightdeck-UI. Hence, user
interface elements produced later would (at some point) be
expected to look less like the instruments from which they
originated.
