This directory contains files, macros, scripts, etc.
needed by autoconf to create the configure script.
Check out the *.in and *.m4 files to see how configure
determines the paths, flags, etc. needed by the tools
used to build the application(s) being configured, and
generate the appropriate Makefiles.
