This directory includes files required for FlexFax fax server to build
under 4.3BSD Reno code running at The Bergen Scientific Centre, Bergen,
Norway. This code is a version of Reno released by UCB in 1990 with 
enhancements taken from 4.4BSD and 386BSD to make the libraries more
POSIX complient (although there are still much POSIX functionality
missing in the kernel).  It currently runs on IBM RT Systems at the Centre. 

This code was compiled on an IBM RT System Model 125 running 4.3BSD Reno
code with enhancements.  The compiler used was gcc v2.5.6 with g++
libraries v2.5.2.

The string function tolower() is implemented as a #define macro in
/usr/include/ctype.h.  The local ctype.h in this porting directory
redefines tolower() as _tolower() so that FlexFax will invoke code
that tests the string with isupper().  Otherwise, strings get
corrupted within FlexFax.
