Re: [hylafax-users] HylaFAX/smbfax fails near end "COMMAND FAILED"

To he who doesn't believe in white space:

I've got Hylafax going without any client software.

I think (never had occasion to do so yet) you can manage your faxes with the
standard Windows printer queue.

I just attach a coverpage to the front of the document (eg Openoffice.org
Writer) with the words "Fax To:" on it and a number after that.

This gets printed to a standard Samba network printer (Apple laserwriter Pro
600 PS).

I have a little shell script that acts as a printer driver on the Unix side,
which calls a C program I wrote that parses the postscript for the fax
number. The shell script sends the fax on the info given back by the C
program, or sends the faxer a message if there is no "Fax To:" found in the
document.

It was pretty easy to set up and now we even fax Purchase Orders straight
from our accounting system to the supplier.

I use OpenBSD & I dunno how this translates to your OS on the printer driver
side. With BSD you modify a file called /etc/printcap to add the printer &
tell it where your printer driver (script) is.
