capiport Beta 1 ReadMe 

NOTE: This driver requires BeOS R5.0.1! Also note, that this package only supports the active AVM B1 PCI controllers!
 
How to install it ?
Double-click on the installer and wait until the computer has rebooted...
 
How to set your MSN number and set the driver name ?
Open the Be menu in the Deskbar, go to Preferences and select CAPI. Once opened, enter your MSN number, enter /dev/capi20/avmb1_pci_euro/0 in the Driver Name field and then close the window.
 
How to setup your PPP connection ?
Open the Be menu in the Deskbar, go to Preferences and select DialUpNetworking :

Click on the Connect to popup menu and select New... to create a new entry
Click on Modem : 

select CapiPort in the "Your modem is" popup menu
select capiport in the "Connect via" popup menu
click on Done

Enter the phone number
Enter the User name
Enter the Password
Click on Settings 

Select the IP address (if needed)
Enter the DNS (if needed)
Select the Server Type
Click on Done


 
How to connect ?
There are 2 ways to connect :

Open the DialUpNetworking preference panel and click on Connect
Click with the right button on the small modem icon in the Deskbar and select Connect in the popup menu, you can also 
show the Statistics window.

 
Note :

The BeOS PPP stack is only supporting PAP for password authentication, so make sure that your PPP server supports this 
features.
